Cyntellect has announced that it has reached an agreement with the Interdisciplinary Center of Biotechnological Research at the University of Florida. The agreement will focus on a variety of research areas, including the purification and analysis of the cancer stem cells (CSCs), rare cells that are believed to be directly involved in the spread of cancer. The collaboration will exploit the system itself of Cyntellect LEAP to purify these CSCs and their progeny without disturbing their growing environment. Under the agreement, the University deFloridaconseguirá access to LEAP, and Advertisement
Cyntellect receive some payments and commercial rights to discoveries thanks to the collaboration. This information will be paramount in the development strategies for new drugs and the development of revolutionary new diagnostics for major diseases such as cancer, "said Dr. Fred Koller, chief executive of cyntellect. "We believe our technology offers LEAP only half true, effective and highly accurate to isolate rare cells, finances that are available for functional analysis, proteomic or subsequent genetic."
