Fujirebio Diagnostics, Inc. and Roche Diagnostics has announced a worldwide license and supply agreement for the test of ovarian cancer HE4. Under the agreement, Roche is developing a test kit using the HE4 test for Fujirebio Diagnostics in its automated immunoassay analyzers.
The HE4 test was developed by Fujirebio Diagnostics for use in combination with the company's biomarker CA125, the current gold standard for monitoring ovarian cancer. This combination of biomarkers, as shown by published clinical data, provides physicians a diagnostic tool that can provide greater sensitivity and specificity that only CA125. The improvement in sensitivity and specificity should allow doctors to distinguish between malignant pelvic masses more precisely, helping to ensure that patients receive proper therapy before.
"This new HE4 biomarker stressed allow our partner Roche Diagnostics to provide physicians from around the world a much needed tool to better define a pelvic mass, allowing women with increased risk of cancer before seeing the doctor right," said Paul Touhey , director general and CEO of Fujirebio Diagnostics.
