Air Liquide's health and the environment has launched a new production of hydrogen and carbon monoxide at the Polo Chemical Estarreja in Portugal.
The installation of this unit has made an investment of close to 60 million euros with Air Liquide and almost double the production capacity of hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the chemical plant, monitoring the growth of its customers CUF-Industrial Chemical and Dow portugal. This work center of Air Liquide also has a production unit of oxygen, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide plant, whose production is to supply customers in Portugal and western Spain.
Chemical Pole Estarreja is a key point in the Portuguese business community and is considered projects of national interest. Air Liquide with companies in the Polo has doubled its production capacity thanks to an investment of 250 million euros. Portuguese Prime Minister, José Sócrates, visited the new facilities of the complex.
Growth in the Iberian market
In order to increase its production capacity to meet the demands of its customers in the Iberian market, Air Liquide has begun building a new gas separation unit of the air located in Sines, Portugal, with an investment of 50 million euros. This plant will produce nitrogen, oxygen and argon in liquid form as well as enabling the supply of nitrogen gas by pipeline companies in this complex.
With these new production units Air Liquide strengthens its leadership position in the Iberian market. These investments are part of the growth strategy of the Air Liquide Group. Moreover, these centers have the latest technology developed by Air Liquide, which translates into maximizing the efficiency and the maximum environmental respect.
