Summary: Responsible for design and manufacture of harsh environment electrical connectors and cable assemblies. Duties include development of new designs from inception through manufacturing and testing, interfacing with internal and external customers, outside manufactures and testing facilities, as well as developing written specifications, customer proposals, and qualification/acceptance test procedures.
Responsibilities:
Design products or systems such as connectors, cables or penetrators.
Develop procedures and guidelines in order to produce Company products within specifications and time scales using the safest and most cost effective processes.
Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Liaise with other departments to ensure optimum product development with particular emphasis toward standardization of products.
Direct and coordinate fabrication installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Review and approve engineering designs prior to manufacture, ensuring design review compliance and elimination of repetitive errors.
Provide technical support to customers and the company's representatives.
Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate component or system malfunctions.
Requirements:
3 - 5 years of progressive engineering experience with Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
Proficient in use of AutoCAD.
Experience with manufacturing techniques and practices, in ocean environment or hydraulics.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively interface with support staff.
Self-motivated to work with minimum direct supervision.
